Brenda Kay Lovelady Profile Photo Brenda Kay Chamness Lovelady, 71, of Moulton, Alabama passed away Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. Brenda’s wishes were that all of her services be held privately with her immediate family, and we appreciate the love and support during this time.

Born on May 24, 1955, to Andrew “Buster” and Eula Mae Harville Chamness. Brenda was a pillar in the community, and worked with us at Lawrence Funeral Home for 25 years. She was a magnificent cook, especially a great baker at making cookies, cinnamon rolls, and birthday cakes for everyone she loved. Brenda enjoyed playing the piano and singing gospel music. When you saw Brenda she always greeted you with her smile, and when you left she was sure to hug your neck and tell you that she loved you. We are saddened with her loss, but we can rejoice in the fact that she’s no longer suffering and has went to be with the Lord.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Roger Lovelady; sons, Jerome (Heidi) Lovelady and Dustin Lovelady (Hayley James); grandchildren, Landon Lovelady and Brenley Lovelady; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew “Buster” and Eula Mae Chamness; sister, Debra Lovelady; and daughter-in-law, Jenny Lynn Lovelady.

Pallbearers will be family and co-workers.

The family extends special thanks to all of her doctors and nurses that have helped her during her time of illness, and the community for their continuous support, love, and kind words of encouragement.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a Church or Charity of your choice in Brenda’s memory.
