Brenda K. Wakefield, age 77, of Bear Creek, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at her residence. She was born in Marion County, Alabama on June 26, 1949, to her mother Lola Jo Hollis.
She was preceded in death by her mother and sisters, Doris Cartee and Rita Hollis. She is survived by her husband, Larry Wakefield; children, Shane Wakefield, Wenona Gilliland (husband, Gerald); grandsons, William Townsend, Nathan Gilliland (wife, Kaytlyn); great-grandchildren, Kensleigh Harris, Paisley Gilliland, Noah Gilliland, Hudson Gilliand, Sayler Gilliland a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 14,2026 from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. at Nichols Marion County Funeral Home the service will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel with Brother Greg Cook officiating and interment at Old Bethel Cemetery in Marion County, Alabama.
Nichols Marion County Funeral Home will assist the family.
