Funeral service for Mrs. Brenda Joy Burress, age 78, will be Monday October 2, 2023 at White Hall Baptist Church at 2 pm with Joel Pigg officiating. Visitation will be Monday October 2, 2023 from 1 pm until service time at White Hall Baptist Church.
Mrs. Burress passed away on Thursday September 28, 2023 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN. For many years, she was a secretary at Humboldt First Baptist Church and was also an active member at White Hall Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and was active in choir and WMU.
Mrs. Burress graduated from Bradford High School in 1963 as a salutatorian then attended Dyersburg State Community College.
Mrs. Burress was a hardworking woman, she had many jobs which included the Trenton Herald Gazette, ITT, substitute teacher, pharmacy tech clerk at Trenton Discount Pharmacy, and Gibson County Courthouse.
Mrs. Burress was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Lillian Mae (Hickman) Crossnoe; and three sisters, Elaine Moore, Margie Wingo, and Peggy Parks.
Mrs. Burress is survived by her husband of 59 years, William Burress; a daughter, Carol Burke and husband Michael of Conway, SC; two sons, Kevin Burress of Trenton, TN, and Jason Burress of Dallas, TX; a grandson, Mark Burress of Dallas, TX; a sister, Connie Clanton and husband Richard of Trenton, TN; three nephews, Guy R. Clanton, Wayne Adams and wife Michelle, and Justin Wingo; a sister-in-law, June Harris and husband Bobby of Medina, TN; and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Burress and wife Betty of Waynesboro, TN.
