Funeral for Brenda Gay, 67, of Decatur, will be Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016, at Parkway Funeral Home, at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. prior to service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Gay, who died Friday, Dec. 2, 2016, in Decatur, was born Monday, Feb. 28, 1949, to Paul Monroe Cowart and Annie Lou Cowart. She was preceded in death by father, Paul Monroe Cowart; mother, Annie Lou Cowart; brothers, Garland (Pam) Cowart, Duke Cowart; and sisters, Patricia Grissom, Diane Lindley, Loretta Cowart, and one daughter, Pam Shelton.
Survivors include husband, Bill Gay; two brothers, Danny (Carolyn) Cowart and James Cowart; two sisters, Margaret (Billy) Cagle and Donna Smith; four sons, Rocky Gay, James (Denise) Gay, Justin “Boog” Gay, and Louie Gay; three daughters, Sissy (Shane) Taylor, Purdy (Troy) Watson, and son-in-law, Robby Shelton; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be friends and family.
