Brenda McFadden Browder  Brenda “Ferret” McFadden Browder of Decatur, Alabama passed away Saturday January 24, 2026. She was the beloved daughter of Brenda and Denzil Meigs. She is preceded in death by her husband Albert ”Duke” Browder, and brothers Larry Payne and Michael McFadden. She is survived by brothers Bryan and Robert McFadden, sister Pamela Payne Freeman, sons Cody and Aaron Browder, grandchildren Kadrien, Kiyami, and Kailyx Browder, fiance Jeffery Keith Gurganus, and adopted sister Stacie Byrd.
She was loved by many, and was often considered a second mother. She devoted her life to rescuing and rehabilitating animals, with a primary focus on wolf species and pitbulls. Throughout her life, she rehabilitated over 580 animals, and helped with the repopulation efforts for wolves in Yellowstone.
A lover of mozzarella sticks, Mountain Dew, and KISS, Brenda was a force of nature. A daughter. A mother. A best friend. A dreamer. A beacon of strength and hope for others. She will be greatly missed.
