Brenda Crowe Lindsay, age 77, of Union Grove, Alabama passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024. Brenda was born November 3, 1946 in Decatur, AL. Her parents were John David Crowe and Stella Lee Crowe. Brenda graduated from Decatur High School and had furthered her education by attending Florence State (now known as UNA). Her two primary places of employment were Guntersville High School and The Boeing Company from which she retired in the late 2000’s. Brenda loved her family dearly and never met someone who she didn’t create a bond with. She was an athlete and spent much of her adult life playing tennis and participating in bowling leagues. She had a green thumb and always kept a yard and patio full of beautiful flowers and shrubbery.
Brenda is survived by her daughter Jennifer Gibson, son Garth Lindsay, son Myles Lindsay, grandchildren Jada Nix, Julie Gibson, Meredith Lindsay, and Micah Lindsay; and her sister Sandra Beavers.
Preceding Brenda in death is her husband Houston Lindsay and her parents, John and Stella Crowe, and her brother David Lee Crowe.
Brenda’s family will receive friends and guest at a visitation gathering from 12:00 p.m to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Funeral services are planned for 1:00p.m. following visitation. After the funeral, there will be a brief graveside service at Athens City Cemetery. Officiating will be Reverend Jack Lovelace. Pallbearers will be Adam Crowe, Gabriel Beavers, Lindsay Burgreen, Garth Lindsay, Myles Lindsay.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
