Branch R Fleming Branch R. Fleming, 97, of Huntsville, AL passed away Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2021. He was born in Santa Barbara, CA, spending his youth in southern Georgia with his family.

Branch served in the Army during World War II from 1942-46 earning a Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign with 2 Bronze Stars, and a World War II Victory Medal distinctions during his tours of duty. He then went on to graduate from Presbyterian College and Georgia Tech University with degrees in math and engineering.

After school he was married, and he and his wife of 63 years moved to Huntsville to start their family. Branch was employed by NASA at Redstone Arsenal. For 60-years, Branch was an active member of First Baptist Church in Huntsville, serving as a Sunday School teacher, choir member, deacon and wherever else volunteers were needed. He was a constant giver to all types of ministries.

Branch moved to Jeffersonville, IN a few years ago spending his remaining years with family. Branch was a loving husband, dad, granddad and great-granddad, and a friend to so many. He was a man of impeccable character and integrity, with a heart to match.

Branch was preceded in death by his parents, William Branch Fleming, and Margaret Evelyn Fleming; and his wife of 63 years, Omagene Fleming.

He is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Lands; his son, David B. Fleming (Carol); five grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Visitation will from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, with the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Rev. Billy Orton. Interment will follow at Huntsville Memory Gardens.
