Boyd Hightower, 86 of Athens died Saturday at his residence. Mr. Hightower was born August 5, 1928, in Limestone County. A Korean Army veteran, he retired from Monsanto and was a member of First Baptist Church, Athens. Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Spry Funeral Home, Athens, with visitation from 11 a.m. until service on Tuesday. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Dr. Fred Lackey officiating.
Survivors include sons, Barry (Diane) Hightower, Birmingham and Mark (Cindy) Hightower, Athens; grandchildren, Sara Hightower, Olivia Hightower, Will Hightower and Clay Hightower; brother, Loyd (Wanda) Hightower, Athens; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hightower was preceded in death by wife, Genese Hightower; and brother, Howard Hightower.
