Boyce Edward Young – Obituary

boyceBoyce Edward Young, 79, of Florence, passed away March 6, 2016 at E.C.M. Hospital after an extended illness. He was a member of Cloverdale Church of Christ, the Lauderdale-Franklin County Cattleman’s Association, and the American Legion. Mr. Young was the past owner of Young Farm Equipment and Young’s General Store. He was also a cattle farmer, truck driver for Chem Haulers, and he served his country in the U.S. Army.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 8, 2016 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Cloverdale Church of Christ with Tim Grigsby, Jack Flowers, and Sonny Bogus officiating. Burial will follow in Cloverdale Church of Christ Cemetery with military honors. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Young was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold Edward and Reba Jean Young.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Peggy Ticer Young; son, Bradley Edward Young and wife, Jennifer; daughters, Jill Young Brooks and husband Robert, Amy Young LeCroy and husband Trey; and grandchildren, Collin Daniel Brooks, and Coleman Edward Young all of Cloverdale, AL.

Active pallbearers will include: Charlie South, Terry McFall, Tommy Condrey, Charles Clanton, Jerome Staggs, and Tommy Stacy.

Dewitt Auction, Gary Gilbertson, Alan Crain, Gerald Bates, Pete Gifford, men of Cloverdale Church of Christ, and his cousins will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Danny McFall, Dr. Irons, Dr. Ba’albaki, nurses at E.C.M. Hospital, visitors, Gentiva Home Health Care, and North Gate Pharmacy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cloverdale Cemetery Fund, 13000 Hwy. 157 Florence, AL 35633.
