BowlSheffield-What if every child fulfills his or her potential? What if every child is put on the right path today? What if every child in America graduates high school and college, and gives back to his or her community? What will that start?

It will be the start of something BIG. Every time you donate money or time to help a child reach his or her potential, You Start Something.

Big Brothers Big Sisters is starting something BIG in the lives of children across the Shoals area.  The 27th Annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake is coming up March 7th, 9th, 10th and we need your support!  Form a team of 4-6 people (friends, family, co-workers, etc.), and give Big Brothers Big Sisters a call at 256-248-1931 or register your team online at www.bbbsshoals.org

Bowlers collect donations from friends, families, and co-workers. This is a fun day of free bowling and fabulous door prizes.  Bowlers who bring at least $25 in donations get the cool Bowl for Kids’ Sake t-shirt, and the top fundraiser will be awarded a GRAND prize.

“Bowl for Kids’ Sake is our major fundraiser, and participation from our community in this event is vital to the continuation of our programs throughout the year,” said Big Brothers Big Sisters Executive Director, Gina Mashburn. “The funds donated by our supporters will help us match children who are in need of a positive role model relationship with caring mentors.”

Our vision at Big Brothers Big Sisters is that all children achieve success in life…contributing to better schools, brighter futures, and stronger communities for all.  Studies show that a child who is matched with a Big Brother or Big Sisters is 52% less likely to skip a day of school, 46% less likely to start using illegal drugs, 27% less likely to start drinking, less likely to lie to their parents, and more likely to have better relationships with their peers.

Join us in making a BIG difference in the life of a child.  Call 256-248-1931 or go online at www.bbbsshoals.org to sign up your team or to volunteer as a Big Brother or Big Sister!
