Bonnie Melanie Wells, age 61, of Petersburg, Tennessee, passed away Monday, September 14, 2026, at Vanderbilt Medical Center.
Bonnie was born August 15, 1965, in Lewisburg, Tennessee, to the late Charles and Ruth Mitchell Wells. Bonnie lived her life with a remarkable blend of devotion, resilience, and warmth. She worked at Moon Pencil Company and the Belfast Market, but her greatest joy was the love she poured into her home, her daughter, and later her grandchildren. In July 2026, Bonnie received a heart transplant—a testament to her determination to keep living for the people she cherished most. She endured many difficult days in the hospital, facing each one with quiet bravery, hope, and the same gentle spirit that defined her life. Even in those challenging weeks, her thoughts were always with her family. Bonnie found joy in cooking, hosting gatherings, and filling her home with laughter and comfort. She especially treasured being the babysitter for her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, embracing each moment with affection and pride. Bonnie was deeply loved, and her strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion will be forever missed by her family and friends.
