Graveside Services for Mrs. Bonnie F. Young, age 68 of Lineville, will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Olive Branch Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Richie Farrow officiating.
Mrs. Young passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Grandview Medical Center. Mrs. Young spent the beginning of her life in Birmingham and Pell City, but had been a Clay County resident for the last 42 years. After graduating High School in Pell City, she attended the Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing. She worked as an RN for 38 years, working in different ICU’s in Georgia and Alabama, and also worked and retired from the Clay County Homecare after 16 years. She is a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church. Her family left a loving memory in her honor that states: “Our mother’s love impacted us in incredible ways. Always guiding and protecting, no matter the distance. We know that feeling of protection and guidance will be felt even though she’s gone. Our mom impacted many lives, always put others before herself, and loved our daddy with her whole heart. She’s the kind of person we all wish to be like. Mama you left us with so many beautiful memories, your love is still our guide, although we cannot see you; you’re always by our side. Your goodness, your caring, and your wisdom will live on like a legacy of love that will always be with us. And although you held our hands for a short time, you hold our hearts forever. In life, we loved you dearly; in death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place no one else can fill. Unable are the loved to die, for love is immortality.”
Mrs. Young is survived by her husband of 44 years, Mike Young of Lineville; two daughters: Kristi Hardy (Jim) of Alexander City and Kerri Cody of Winnie, TX; one son, Wes Young (Lana) of Ashland; six grandchildren: Cole Gentry, Carter Young, Aden Young, Braxden Young, Ava Cody, and Timber Hardy; and a large extended family.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Charles Edgar Rhoton and Edna Joyce Webb Rhoton, and her brother, David Rhoton.
Active Pallbearers will be: Brett Young, Russell Anderson, Jeff Carpenter, Chris Haynes, Kris Herron, Rick Roberts, Ryan Seals, and Stephen Sparks.
Her visitation will take place on Friday, May 28, 2021 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville from 5:00 P.M. until 8 P.M., and until 10:30 A.M. on Saturday.
