Bonita Sue Ricketts, age 65 of Winchester, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. A native of Franklin County, she was born in Winchester on February 19, 1957, to the late Joe Bill and Zelda Lou (Gipson) Stephens. Bonita was a 1975 graduate of Franklin County High School. Before her retirement, she was employed as a cook at Aramark of Nissan. In her spare time, she enjoyed cross stitching, reading, watching hummingbirds, and listening to her windchimes and country music. She also enjoyed watching cooking shows, and the Hallmark and Lifetime channels. But most of all, Bonita cherished the time spent with her beloved family, especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her loving and “spunky” nature. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ricky L. Ricketts. Bonita is survived by her loving children, Tonya (Nathan)Payne of Winchester, and Stephanie (Ronnie) Daniel of Winchester; brother, Joel (Gayla) Stephens of Winchester; and grandchildren, Ashley Haney, Courtney Haney, Ethan Daniel, Aiden Daniel, Daniel Payne, and Tavolyn Payne. Visitation will be from 5-8 on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Rev. Johnny Hayes officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens. The family requests memorial donations be made to Multi-County Cancer Support Network (MCCSN).
