Bon-Jean Browning Davis was born March 12, 1938 in New Albany, Mississippi to William Washington Browning and Ara Opal Wilkins Browning. She was the first of two children. Her brother, Charles Browning, was born several years later. She helped take care of him and they were very close. She departed this life for life eternal on Monday November 17, 2014.
Jean was an ardent Christian and was a member of Faith Chapel in Huntsville for many years. She joined shortly after Joel McGraw founded the church.
Jean married Allen Eugene Davis in 1955 and they were in love for more than 59 years. They raised three children, Edward Eugene Davis, Cathy Ann Davis, and Sherrie Lynn Davis. They were grandparents to James Allen Baker, Randy Gene Baker, and Melissa Lindsey Giovanetti Burroughs, and great grandparents to Whitney Nicol Baker, Courtney Nicole Baker, Brandon Lee Jackson, Brooke Taylor Baker, and Liam Burroughs.
Jean worked as a cosmetologist and instructor. She owned and operated Johnson Beauty School for many years. She was the oldest living instructor in Alabama for many years. She has many students that she treated like her children, friends, and customers that she loved and visited.
Jean had several hobbies that included cooking, gardening, and meeting friends. Her greatest joy was raising her grandchildren and great grandchildren, which were the “Loves of her Life”.
Her greatest desire and prayer was for God to allow her to live long enough to see her children grown and doing well. God blessed her with 77 years. She served a true and living God.
