UPDATE…..Escaped Bull In Decatur Shot And Killed

UPDATE: The animal was just SHOT AND KILLED by an employee of Valley Stockyard. The location of the incident is going to be in a stand of woods in the area behind 609 Cockrell Ave. SW. Once again, thank you for your help in getting this out to the public. The Valley Stockyard employees stated that this was a VERY dangerous animal & could have been deadly if it had gotten into an area where people were present.

valleyDECATUR-Public Alert!   An escaped bull has been reported in the area of the Valley Stockyard on Pine Avenue, SW in Decatur about an hour ago.  The bull is considered dangerous.

Officers of the Decatur Police Department have been called to Valley Stockyard on Pine Ave. SW, just off of Old. Moulton Rd. in reference to a bull that escaped from a cattle pen. Employees described the animal as extremely dangerous. The bull charged the first officer to arrive on the scene and damaged his patrol car. It is now somewhere between Moulton St. and Old Moulton Rd., east of the Beltline. Anyone in the area is urged to stay inside and not to approach the animal under any circumstances. DPD, animal control, and Valley Stockyard employees are actively searching for the bull at this time. Updates will be forthcoming. Thank you for your help in getting this out.
