MADISON COUNTY-On Sunday afternoon, December 27 the body of a man who appears to be in his mid 50’s was discovered in a flood waters from the Tennessee River near New Hope.
Emergency personnel were called to the scene of a flooded area near CC Ivy Road in Cloud Cove community. Investigators say residents of the area found the body in the water. After pulling the man from the water they tried to revive him, but their attempts failed.
The name of the victim is being withheld until notification of next of kin.
Early findings indicate accidental drowning. Although the investigation is still ongoing.
