Bobby Timothy “Tim” Mitchell was born April 13, 1959 in Marshall County, Alabama. Tim passed away Sunday, June 23, 2024 at the age of 65 at Shepherd’s Cove Hospice. He was the son of Bobby Joe and Mary Ann Mitchell of Albertville.
Tim attended Albertville schools and graduated from Albertville High School in 1977. He was sworn in at the age of 29 as the youngest Probate Judge in Marshall County history in January of 1989. For the next 30 years Mitchell held the position winning four additional terms and running twice unopposed, making him the longest serving Probate Judge in Marshall County. Tim retired in January of 2019.
During his tenure as Probate Judge, Tim was a founding member of the Marshall County Guardianship Program (GAP). He was proud to serve the citizens of Marshall County for many years and took pride in his work. Mitchell was honored to be inducted into the Albertville City Schools Foundation Hall of Fame in January of 2024.
Tim enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, spending time at the beach, and throwing darts, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his two daughters and grandchildren. He lived life to the fullest.
He is survived by one brother, Kelvin Lane Mitchell, two loving daughters, Lauren Richards (Michael) and Courtney Wyatt (Michael), 6 grandchildren (Harley Wyatt, Evy Bolding, Bennett Bolding, Estyn Wyatt, Haskell Bolding, and Henley Wyatt), and his wife of 27 years and forever friend, Kathy LeCroy.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024 at the Albertville High School Fine Arts Center, 402 East McCord Avenue, Albertville, AL 35950. The family will receive friends from 12pm-2pm, and the service will immediately follow at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, we request that donations be made to the Albertville City Schools Foundation, Marshall County Guardianship Program or Shepherd’s Cove Hospice
