Bobby Smith, 80, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away on August 3, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 12, 1943, in Huntsville, Alabama, and was raised in Lincoln Village. Bobby dedicated 23 years of his life to working at Andy’s Pest Control before retiring due to health reasons.
Bobby was a devoted family man who cherished his wife of 59 years, Jerri Smith. He leaves behind a legacy of love, as well as his children, Jennifer Esslinger and Kim Whisenant (Scott). He was a proud grandfather to Dillon Esslinger and Jake Whisenant (Chelsea), and a doting great-grandfather to Sophia, Brodie, and Miles. Bobby also had a special bond with his dog Oscar, who brought him much joy and companionship throughout the years.
In his free time, Bobby enjoyed taking trips to the beach and had a particular fondness for visiting Tunica. He was a man of simple pleasures who found happiness in the company of his loved ones.
Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Coyal Smith, his mother, Mattie Irma Smith, his sister, Patricia King, and his son-in-law, Ricky Esslinger. He is survived by his sisters-in-law, Diane Jones and Kathy Ogle (Frank), as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins.
No services are planned at this time to honor Bobby’s life and legacy.
Bobby will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of his family and friends. May he rest in eternal peace.
