Bobby Ray King, age 83 of Fort Payne, AL, passed away on January 18, 2025, surrounded by those closest to him. Born March 29, 1941 in Fort Payne, the son of Grady and Irene (Burnett) King.
Bobby was an Army veteran and retired from Fort Payne Improvement Authority after 32 years. He was a lifelong member of Whitehall Methodist Church. He was a devoted husband of 60 years, a loving dad, granddad and a beloved friend to many.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Monday, January 20, 2025 at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Danny Moses officiating. Burial will follow in the Whitehall Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 12 pm. until the 2 pm. hour of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Whitehall Methodist Church.
Bobby is survived by his children, Layne King of Huntsville, Benita K. Cooper (Lindsey Cooper) of Mount Pleasant SC; as well as his grandchildren Hogan Kelly, Houston Kelly, Hudson Kelly, Colby King Roberts (Bryant Roberts), and Brody King.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Jean King, parents Grady and Irene King.
Bobby will be deeply missed, but we grieve with hope knowing he is living his best days with his Lord and Savior whom he loved.
