Mr. Bobby Joe Smith, age 84, of the Brooksville community in Blount County, passed away at his residence on Sunday, February 23, 2020.
Mr. Smith was born in Marshall County, Alabama on February 5, 1936 to his parents Claude Thomas Smith and Clara Ovena Norton Smith. Bobby was a U.S. Army Veteran serving our country during the Korean War. Aside from working as a barber for over fifty years, he volunteered at the Arab Rescue Squad. He was a member of the Arab Masonic Lodge #663, VFW and American Legion. Bobby was a member of the Resurrecting Baptist Church in Morgan County
Mr. Smith is survived by his son, Alan Smith; two daughter, Teresa (Tim) Brumlow and Earnestine Smith; two sisters, Nellie Gullion and Margaret (Larry) Conley; one grandchild, Caroline Brumlow.
In addition to his parents, Bobby is preceded in death by his sister, Louise Traylor.
A visitation to for Mr. Smith will be held at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2020.
Funeral services will be at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Burial to follow at the Arab Memorial Cemetery with Bro. Larry Conley, officiating.
