Bobby Joe Johnson, 85, Muscle Shoals, Alabama passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023. Visitation will be Sunday, June 4 from 1:00-3:00 at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. A graveside service will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Barton Cemetery in Cherokee with Brother Seth Hood officiating.
Bobby Joe was preceded in death by his son, Tim Johnson; grandson, Shawn Brewer; parents, Titus and Lenie Johnson; brothers, Billy Ray and Troy Johnson. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Glenda Thomason Johnson; children, Sharon Burton (Charles) and Darren Thigpen; brothers, Cleo, Leo and Marcus Johnson; grandchildren, Donna Buszka (Michael), Jackie and Jesse Burton, Drew Thigpen (Megan), Whitney Brewer and Jennifer Miller; great-grandchildren, Skylar Rivera, Kylie Buszka, Kiara Brewer, Aiden, Wyatt and Kayse Thigpen; several nieces and nephews and other family members.
Bobby Joe was a member of the Baptist faith. He was employed at Robbins Tire until 1979 and then opened and operated Johnson’s Fieldstone. Bobby Joe loved his family and friends more than anything. He enjoyed fishing and watching westerns.
Pallbearers will be Michael Buszka, Skylar Rivera, Drew Thigpen, Eric Johnson, John Johnson, and Jeff Roland. Honorary pallbearers are Shane Johnson, Chris Johnson, Jackie and Jesse Burton.
