Bobby Joe Duke, 54, died Friday, June 7, 2019 at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo after a brief illness. Born in New Albany on Jan. 5, l965 to Robert Edward Duke and Joann Brown Coakley, Bobby Joe grew up in this area and worked for many years as a cable installer in the telecommunications industry. A Baptist, he was an avid fisherman, enjoyed hunting and all the outdoors. He was an ace pool shark.
A service celebrating his life will be held at 6 PM Monday, June 10, 2019 at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Robert McGee officiating. Private burial will follow in Benton County, Miss. Visitation will be from 5 PM-service time Monday only. Holland Funeral Directors and Cremations is honored to be serving the family.
Bobby Joe leaves behind his mother, Joann Coakley of Blue Springs; his step father, Robert Dukes of Houlka; 1 brother, Steve Duke of Monroe County, MS, 2 sisters, Melissa Anglin of Melbourne, Fla. and Angela Duke of Tupelo; his grandchildren and a host of friends.
