Bobby Joe Barnett, 77, of Benton, Arkansas, died on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Heartland Rehabilitation and Care Center. Bobby was a veteran of the United States Navy and served in Vietnam. For most of his life, he was a pastor. He earned his bachelor’s degree at CMBI in Bellflower, CA, and earned his master’s degree in Bible Language at Northwest Bible Institute in Bend, OR. He went on to pastor at several different churches, including First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Rosdeburg, OR, Simi Valley Missionary Baptist Church in Simi Valley, CA, and Traskwood First Missionary Baptist Church in Traskwood, AR. Most recently, he was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Benton, AR, and throughout the years, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle across the U.S. and Canada with his wife and friends. Bobby is survived by his beloved wife, Paulette Barnett; his daughter, Angela Engebretsen; his grandchildren, Kyle, Madisyn, and Jett Engebretsen; his brother, Truman Barnett; and a host of other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Geneva Bonds and Jake Barnett; and his brother, Joseph Barnett. Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS, is entrusted with the arrangements. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Mt. Gilead Cemetery, officiated by Mike Doddridge.
