Brother Bobby Jefferson began his earthly journey on February 26, 1949 in Limestone County Alabama. Bobby was born to the late Lemuel Jefferson and Lillie P. Wright-Jefferson. He entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 22, 2024. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Reginald Cortez Bell and sisters, Willie Dortch and Carrie Miller.
Bobby confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined Morning Star United Methodist Church in Belle Mina, Alabama. He later joined New Hope CPCA church family where he served faithfully. He was a member of the Usher Board, Security Team, and Food Committee. Bobby was also instrumental in visiting the sick and the elderly. Bobby’s favorite hobby was barbecuing, he also was well-known for his homemade barbecue sauce. He was an all-around people person.
Bobby was educated in the Limestone County School System. In 1967, he joined the United States Marine Corps. During his time in the service he served in the Vietnam War. He was very loyal to his branch of service. Wearing Marine gear was a part of his everyday attire. Bobby served with the Limestone County Honor Guard. He was also a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America-1067 and Honoring Veterans Legacies. While serving in Vietnam, he was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal for Meritorious Combat Performance.
Bobby leaves to cherish his precious memories: a loving and devoted wife, Eddie M. Jefferson; children: Reginald Jefferson (Marlene) and Turkesa Lanier (Agyei) and adopted daughter, Mikiah Jefferson; four grandchildren: LaShaynea Jefferson, DeVancy Jefferson, Mikiah Jefferson and A’Miracle Garner; three great grandchildren; E’vonnea Jefferson, De’vaughn Jefferson and Ellie Jefferson: two god sons; Gregory Caudle and Boris Caudle; sisters, Ella Ricks; Annie Jefferson; Sarah Jefferson and Rebecca Jefferson; brothers: Leon Jefferson; Manuel Jefferson (Esther); and James Jefferson; sisters-in-law: Molly Caudle; Doris McGahee (Razzie); and Tonja Miller; brothers-in-law: Wavon Caudle, Dennis Caudle, Garnell Caudle (Kimberly); Carl Caudle; Jeffery Caudle (Sasha); Steve Caudle (MaryKaye); and Gregory Caudle; three close friends: Clifford Williams, Razzie McGahee, and Nelson Gordon; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Bobby will be greatly missed by his family and many friends but his memories will live on in our hearts.
The funeral service for Mr. Bobby Jefferson will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 30, 2024 at the New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America (28520 Wall Street, Madison, AL 35756) with Reverend Ernestine Gordon as eulogist and Pastor Burgess Ewing officiating. Interment will be in the New Hope #2 Cemetery. Mr. Jefferson will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.
Public viewing will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Friday, March 29, 2024 and 9:00 until 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 30, 2024 at the Royal Funeral Home.
