Bobby Gene Lee, age 85, of the Hulaco community of Joppa, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. Born on March 16, 1941, in Cullman County, Alabama, Bobby was the son of Perrie Phillips Sands. Bobby and Ann Carol Hester Lee shared more than 67 years of marriage. Bobby retired from Cullman Electric Cooperative, where he worked as a groundsman. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Fairview, AL.
Bobby dearly loved his family, his wife and daughter. He enjoyed being outdoors, caring for his lawn, spending time in his shop repairing small engines, and riding across his property on his tractor. He also took great pride in his work at Cullman Electric and enjoyed watching television westerns.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Ann Carol Lee, his daughter, Deanna M. Lee; and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Perrie Lee.
Services for Mr. Lee will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon, with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Jim Butts will officiate. Interment will be in Ryan Baptist Church Cemetery, with Ronnie Scott, Jamey Satterfield, Shawn Hester, Alan Roberts, and Jake Roberts serving as pallbearers. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Antioch Baptist Church.
