Funeral service for Bobby G. “Ratchet” Strickland age 76 of Falkville will be Monday, September 18, 2017 at 2:00pm at Mill Creek Baptist Church with Brother David Hale and Brother Gary Peebles officiating with burial in the Union Hill Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. His body will be at the church one hour prior to the service. Visitation will be from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Sunday evening at Peck funeral home.
Mr. Strickland, who was born on March 3, 1941 in Falkville to Rufus Curtis Strickland and Mamie Elsie Dunlap Strickland, went peacefully to Heaven on Saturday, September 16, 2017 surrounded by his loved ones.
He was a member of Westside Baptist Church in Eva and was formerly at Deacon at Mill Creek Baptist Church and Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. He was talked right into the arms of Jesus by his loving wife and was a man of many hats; he was a son, a husband, a father, a grandfather, known as “papaw” and a great grandfather, known as “pops”. Bobby was a friend to all and loved by many. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife; Sharon Faye Strickland, 2 Daughters; Teresa “Terri” Cosper (Wes) and Cathy Cross (Ricky),
1 brother; Curtis Jr. Strickland and a sister; Betty Jean Wood
3 Grandchildren; Stephanie (Trey), Greg & Adam and his fiancee’, Ariel Harkness
3 Great Grandchildren; Hannah, Tenley & Wesley
Wes Cosper, Ricky Cross, Greg Woodruff, Adam Cosper, Trey Summerford and Melvin Lawrimore will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, we have a donation account at Redstone Federal Credit Union to be used for any child at Falkville Elementary for coats or shoes.
