Bobby Clay Russell, 88, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at his home in the Hurricane Community after a valiant battle with cancer. Bobby retired with 32 years from the MS State Department of Agriculture in June 2011. After retirement he loved working on his farm; from attending to his cows, trading on tractors and farm equipment, and always having a beautiful garden. He was most happy at home and with friends.
He was married to Lynda Stevens Russell for 63 years at her death in November 2021. They had two children Randell Russell and Nevedia Russell Hollingsworth, 3 grandchildren, Charissa Pardee (James), Rodney Carpenter (Katie), and Tasha Russell Turner (Shawn), and 7 great-grandchildren, Addison Pardee, Lillyan Pardee, Mindy Carpenter, Kevin Carpenter, Oz Carpenter, Kara McCollough and Jacie Best.
Visitation will be 5-8PM Friday, February 14, 2025, and Saturday, February 15, 2025, 10AM until service time of 11AM. Visitation and service will be at Old Union Nazarene Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of arrangements.
