Bobby Clay Howard age 84 of Athens, passed away Monday, March 30, 2015 at Limestone Health Facility. Mr. Howard was born October 30, 1930 in Lauderdale County, AL to Floyd Howard and Lilly Haraway Howard.
Services will be Wednesday, April 1, 2015 2:30 p.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Bill Irby officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 31, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Athens City Cemetery.
Mr. Howard was a member of West Hobbs Street Church of Christ and retired from Sunbeam Bakery. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War.
Preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Lilly Haraway Howard; wife, Marvelyn Mae Howard; great-granddaughter, Katie Lynn Taylor; brother, Oscar Eudean Howard, sister-in-law, Hilda Howard; brother-in-law, James “Red” Inman.
Survived by one daughter, Vickie Hill and husband, Freddy of Athens; three grandchildren, James Clay Stroud and wife, Ivy, Jennifer Hosner and husband, Josh and Whitney Taylor all of Athens; six great-grandchildren, Riley Pettus Stroud, Cody Benton Stroud, Lola Mae Stroud, Bo Joshua Hosner, Layla Nicole Hosner and Brandon Allen Taylor; one sister, Thetus Inman of Athens and several nieces.
Pallbearers will be Winston Jackson, Bill Walker, Dalton Scott, J.H. Bullington, Tony Anderson and Nick Holland. Honorary pallbearers will be Caretakers East Wing of Limestone Health Facility.
