Bobby Carroll Baldy – Obituary

Bobby Carroll Baldy, 75, of Phil Campbell entered into rest Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at his residence surround by his loving family.

Mr. Baldy was born February 1, 1937 in Double Springs, Alabama. Bobby served in the United States Navy for 20 years, which included a tour during the Vietnam War. He was a machinist in the engine room. Then drove a truck until he retired. Bobby had many hobbies that he enjoyed. He belonged to bowling leagues, played softball, and loved to go fishing. Also, he loved to be outside playing with the grandkids. It seems you would never see him without a book in his hand or by his chair.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 15, 2012 from 6-9pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, were services will be held Friday, November 16, 2012 at 11am. Burial will follow in Winston Memorial Cemetery. Nathaniel Bennett and Dr. Ron Horton will officiate.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Betty Baldy; son, Gregory (Tammy) Baldy; daughter, Regina (Jessie) Keplinger; brothers, Joe (Louise) Baldy, Johnny (Betty) Baldy, Jackie (Carolyn) Baldy; sister, Bonnie (Jim) Kurzendoerfer. He was “Pawpaw” to 3 grandchildren, Amber Beasley, Savannah Swinney, Jeffery Keplinger, and 4 great grandchildren, Maddison Wade, Kaylee Swinney, and Kenzie Beasley.

He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Baldy; mother, Bessie Baldy; son, Jeffery Baldy; great grandson, Krystian Baldy; sisters, Londa Crumpton, Linda Lewis; nephews, Ronnie Steele and Donnie Steele.
