Bobbie Rice Higginbotham, 81 of Athens, passed away on Wednesday, December 28th, 2022, at Hospice Family Care. Mrs. Higginbotham was born on December 13th, 1941, in Athens, to Robert Rice and Verna Mae Pirtle Rice.
Mrs. Higginbotham is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jimmie Higginbotham; children Gina Pierce (Cliff) of Athens, John Higginbotham (Melinda) of Athens, and David Higginbotham (Anna) of Decatur; grandchildren Noah Higginbotham, Cole Pierce (Sam), Kate Harris (Drew), Hayden Pierce, Kacen Pierce, Bree Higginbotham, Tess Higginbotham, Linley Higginbotham, and Banks Higginbotham; sister Carol Crouch; brother-in-law Tim Higginbotham (Patricia); and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and sister Dorothy Smith.
Funeral services for Mrs. Higginbotham will be Saturday, December 31st, 2022, at 11:00am at Limestone Chapel, with John Gibson, Tony Richter, David Higginbotham, and John Higginbotham officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00-10:50am at the funeral home. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Noah Higginbotham, Cole Pierce, Hayden Pierce, Kacen Pierce, Brad Higginbotham, and Steven Higginbotham.
Mrs. Higginbotham was a faithful member of Jones Road Church of Christ. Some of her favorite pastimes were gardening, flowers, sewing, and painting. Her favorite candy was Payday candy bars. She dearly loved her family, and she put God first in her life.
