Bobbie Nell (Champion) Boswell, age 89 of Gadsden, Alabama and formerly of Winchester, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Gadsden Health and Rehab. Bobbie was born on November 28, 1934, in Winchester, to the late Robert Wilson and Evie Della (Crossland) Champion. She was a devoted member of the Rainbow City Church of Christ and in her younger years, Bobbie enjoyed spreading the gospel thru teaching Bible study classes in church, nursing homes and prisons. In her spare time, she would listen to gospel music and prepare wonderful meals for her family and friends. She will be remembered by her family as a Godly woman and a prolific writer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Kurfees Boswell; sisters; Agnes (David) Jordon and Aline (Earl) Taylor; brothers, Russell (Maude) Champion, Archie (Annie) Champion, Jim (Georgie) Champion, Ardie (Dorothy) Champion, Marshall Champion, Allen (Ruthie) Champion and Earl Champion; and great-great-grandson, Holland Case Boswell. Bobbie is survived by her children, Ted (Cheryl) Boswell, Della (Doyle) McCarver and Joy (Ben) Owens; sister, Mae (Harry) Boswell; sisters-in-law, Frances Champion and Pearl Champion; nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation for Bobbie will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2024, from 4:00pm – 7:00 pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024, at 11:00am in the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro. Blake Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens with grandsons and great grandsons serving as pallbearers.
