Bobbie Jean Eaton, 83, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2025, at Mockingbird Assisted Living, surrounded by her loving family. Born at home in Benton County, MS, she was the daughter of Gladys Vardaman Flake and Annie Jarman Flake. One of seven children, Bobbie graduated from Pine Grove High School in 1958, and shortly afterward, she married and began her family. She was employed by Aflac insurance company and worked as an insurance saleswoman for many years. In her later years, Bobbie made her home at Mockingbird Assisted Living in Booneville, Mississippi. She enjoyed shopping, dining out, and, most of all, spending quality time with her family. She also valued the friendships she formed with fellow residents at Mockingbird. Bobbie will be remembered for her witty humor, outspoken personality, and kind heart.
She is survived by her children: John Alan Eaton of Shelton, WA; Brad Eaton (Theresa) of Dumas, MS; and Crystal Eaton of Dorsey, MS. She also leaves behind five grandchildren: John David Eaton, Candace Mauney (Manuel), Leslie Kirk (Dustin), Robert Ware, and Sydney Ware; six great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Johnny Flake and Ricky Flake.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Annie Flake; her daughter, Rebecca Jean Eaton; and four siblings, Charles, Lucy, Christine, and Nyleen.
A memorial service will be held on May 18, 2025, at 1 pm, at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc, MS with Bro. Clayton officiating. Visitation will take place from 11 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Friendship Memorial Cemetery in Benton County. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of arrangements.
