Bobbie Hanson McFarling, age 95, died peacefully at her home on March 29, 2026. She was a member of Huntsville Christian Church and will be remembered by her love of gardening and her participation in landscaping at her church and in her Weatherly Heights Community.
She worked in civil service at Mallory Air Force Station in Memphis, TN and then at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL from 1960 until retirement in 1985.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. McFarling of Shannon MS, her parents, Paul Hanson and Vergie Gantt Hanson of Lexington, and her brother, Paul N. Hanson.
Survivors include her godson, David L Grimes; nephews, James P. Hanson of Auburn, WA and Robert L. Hanson of Anacortes, WA; and their mother, Kim Hanson.
A memorial service will be held at Huntsville Christian Church at a later date and a graveside service will be held at Old Union Cemetery, Road 600, Shannon, MS.
