Bobbie Artis Boley – Obituary

Bobbie Artis Boley, 85, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018 in Knoxville.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Carl; son, Jimmy; her parents, William and Anne Artis; and brother, Bill. She is survived by her daughter, Beth Anderson; son, Bill Boley and his wife, Missy; grandson, Chase Anderson and wife, Ashley; granddaughters, Hayley Milam and husband, Aaron and Lauren Anderson; great-grandchildren, Gracie, Abby and Jake Milam and Scarlett Anderson; sisters, Betty Bostick and husband John, and Paula Highland, and nieces and nephews.

Bobbie was born in the Union Grove community in Marshall County, Alabama, on April 21, 1932. She and her husband Carl lived in Sheffield, Alabama for 35 years before relocating to Knoxville in 1988. While in Sheffield, Bobbie was an active member of First Baptist Church. She was very involved in Sunday school and mission organizations in her church and faithfully served her community through various civic organizations. After moving to Knoxville, Bobbie was an active member of Central Baptist Church, Bearden. For many years, she served as an officer in her new Sunday school class.

Bobbie had a lifelong gift of hospitality. She was an excellent cook and loved to cook for her family and friends. She also had a passion for gardening. The greatest joy of her life was spending time with her family.

Graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. CST on Friday, April 13th at Greenview Memorial Park in Florence, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bobbie’s name to Alzheimer’s Tennessee, 5801 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919. Online condolences may be received at www.rosemortuary.com.
