Bob Taft Swinney, 91, died Thursday, June 11, 2026, at New Albany Health and Rehab. He was born May 12, 1935, to Austin and Irene Swinney. He worked for General Electric for 35 years. He was a Mason, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR, dirt track racing, restoring older cars and watching New Site Basketball.
A Celebration of Life will be at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at McMillan Funeral Home with Pat Short delivering the Eulogy. Burial will be in Zion Rest Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00 P.M. until service time.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Swinney; daughter Kim (Joe Keating) Keating; son Keith Michael; one sister, Bertie McCarley; seven grandchildren, Eric Hughes, Jessica (Marcus Ginwright) Keating, Allison (Jannah) Keating, Jennifer Donalson, Joanna Dawson, Buzz Michael and Jason Michael; one great-granddaughter, Charlotte Ginwright; and 11 step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and one sister.
