Bob Plunket, 93, Florence, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024. Visitation will be Monday, August 26, from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at The Gathering Place at Sherrod Avenue Church of Christ, Florence. The funeral service will immediately follow in the church auditorium. Interment will be in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens, Florence.
Bob was a Church of Christ minister for sixty-six years. He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-six years, Jan Plunket; parents, Joseph and Alma Plunket; brothers, Lamar Plunket, Bill Plunket, George Plunket, and Jay Plunket; and sisters, Yvone Parker, Mary Heffernan, and Maureen Kendrick.
Bob is survived by his children, Mark Plunket (Donna), Donna Murphy (Randall), Laurie Mitchell (Stuart), Paul Plunket (Margaret), and Christian Plunket (Felicia); grandchildren, Ryan Plunket (Rachel), Rachel Plunket, Leigh Ellen Thomas (J.D.), Zach Plunket (Allie), Jennifer Tidwell (Jason), Daniel Murphy (Misti), Laura Beth Coltey (John), Katy Richardson (Chris), Anna Burdg (Andrew), Sara Van Senus (Alex), Julie Bridges (Heath), Bob Plunket, Kate Plunket, Bailey Harrison (Lee), and Jessa Humphries (Seth); twenty great-grandchildren; and brother, Mack Plunket (Terry).
The family offers special thanks to the staff at Keestone Assisted Living, Lindsey Reidout, and the staff of North Alabama Hospice.
