Boaz Woman Dies From Injuries Received In Single-Vehicle Accident

ETOWAH COUNTY-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident has taken the life of one person and sent another to hospital with injuries:

“A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 4:25 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, has claimed the life of a Boaz woman.

Lisa O. Fitts, 40, was fatally injured when the 2004 Honda Accord that she was a passenger in left the roadway and struck a culvert. After the initial impact, the Honda overturned and struck a house. Fitts was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Honda, Kevin A. Owens, 36, also of Boaz, was injured and airlifted to Huntsville Hospital for treatment. Neither Fitts nor Owens were using a seat belt at the time of crash.

The crash occurred on Whitesboro Road near Beech Street, approximately three miles east of Sardis, in Etowah County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
