Blondena Morris McKee – Obituary

Blondena Morris McKee, 94, passed away Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015, at her residence. She was a lifelong member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and co-owner/operator of T.A. McKee Groceries and Meats, Rogersville, Alabama, for over 30 years.
Mrs. McKee loved flowers and working in her garden, but loving her family and spending time with them always came first.
Visitation will be today from 10-11 a.m. at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will follow at the church with Pat Driskell officiating. Burial will be in Civitan Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jae McKee, Rob Murphy, Jeff Prozan, Jonathon Prozan, Joshua Vardaman, and Todd Vardaman; honorary pallbearers, Bill Bretherick, Charles Burks, Tony Burks, Lewis Mason, Doug McKee, and Jack Phillips.
Mrs. McKee was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Osie Morris, husband, Travis Andrew McKee, and special cousin, Herschel McLemore.
She is survived by her son, Morris D. McKee (Anita), of Rogersville, Alabama; daughter, Gail McKee Moss (John), of Huntsville, Alabama; grandchildren, Jae McKee (Carole), of Anchorage, Alaska, Paige M. Prozan (Jeff), of Huntsville, Alabama, and Didi M. Vardaman (Todd), of Florence, Alabama; great-grandchildren, Jason McKee and Jessica McKee, of Anchorage, Alaska, Lindsay P. Murphy (Rob), of Knoxville, Tennessee, Jonathon Prozan of Huntsville, Alabama, and Caleb Vardaman and Joshua Vardaman, of Florence, Alabama; special nieces and nephews, Marva Bretherick (Bill), of Florence, Alabama, Charles Burks (Pat), of Columbia, Missouri, Tony Burks (Shirley), of Florence, Alabama, and Doug McKee, of Rogersville, Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked for donations to be made to First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 16751 Hwy 72, Rogersville, AL 35652 or to Gideons International, P.O. Box 157, Rogersville, AL 35652.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Mrs. McKee’s caregivers: Evonne Estes, Lee Anna Rencarge, Brenda Rencarge, all other caregivers, and Gentiva Hospice.
