Blanche Stone Echols – Obituary

Blanche Stone Echols died on Wednesday, November 2, 2016.

Blanche was born August 23,1928, in Alachua, FL to Jerry and Jennie Stone. She graduated from Crossville High School and attended Jacksonville State University. Blanche taught 3rd Grade at Cotaco Elementary School and later was a substitute at Hartselle Junior High from 1969-1984. She served as a volunteer at The Caring Place from 1995-2016.

She was a member of First Baptist Church Hartselle where she was a former Sunday School teacher, GA leader, and VBS Director.

Blanche met her husband, Sherman, in zoology class at Jacksonville. He was one of the many veterans attending college on the GI Bill. They were married May 3, 1947.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Sherman Echols, her parents, a sister, Joyce White, and three brothers, Bill, Dan and Earl Stone.

She is survived by:

One Son:
Randall Echols (Lisa), Peachtree City, GA
Two Daughters:
Sherry Echols, Hartselle, AL and
Dr. Jennie Echols, Cumming, GA
Two Grandchildren:
Jessica Echols and
Wesley Echols
and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be Friday, November 4, 2016 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Hartselle, with Bro. Charles Shaddix officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Center Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, November 4, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church.
