Blanche Owens, 101, of Bolivar, TN
Mrs. Owens passed away Friday morning at the Bolivar General Hospital.
A native and life-long resident of Hardeman County, she was the daughter of the late Mattie Adel Barber and Robert Morgan Lax. On November 5, 1932, she married Mr. Millard Owens. He died November 27, 2001. She was a homemaker and member of the Bolivar First Baptist Church where she had formerly served as a Sunday School Teacher and member of the WMU. Of particular enjoyment to her was sewing, her flowers and spending time outdoors.
She leaves a son, Michael (Brenda) Owens of Munford; a sister, Carrie Morgan Lane of Alexandria, VA; five grandchildren, Nancy (David) Morris of Henderson, David Bryan (Lura) Owens of Jackson, Kevin Owens of Millington, Brad Owens of Memphis and Timothy Owens of Denver, CO; 10 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by a son, Don Owens; a granddaughter, Karen Phillips; and 13 sisters and brothers.
