Billy Wells Embry – Obituary

BillyFuneral for Mr. Billy Wells Embry, 62, of Decatur will be noon Thursday at First Missionary Baptist Church and inhumation to follow in Calvary Memorial Gardens. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral with Reynolds Funeral Home directing.

Billy was born on September 13, 1950 in Decatur to the late Mr. Charles Embry and Mrs. Tessie Mae Seymour Embry. He confessed hope in Christ, was baptized and became a lifelong member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Decatur, where he served as a Christian Counselor and Deacon. Billy received his formal education at Lakeside High School in Decatur. He received his bachelor’s from The University of Toledo and his master’s from Louis University Chicago. He served as an insurance agent with Liberty National Life. His favorite hobby was tennis and his greatest accomplishment in life was being born again and living a good clean Christian life.

God quietly called Billy into eternal rest on Sunday night, July 21, 2013. His memory will be cherished by his loving and devoted wife of 15 years, Gwendolyn; two children, Marcy Woods of Decatur and Eric Jackson of Toledo, Ohio; five grandchildren, Shania Lei Chandler of Decatur, De Shawna Barnhill, Eric Jackson Jr., John Jackson and Joshua Jackson of Toledo, Ohio; one sister, Doris E. Mack of Toledo, Ohio; one brother, William F. Key of Decatur; and one special cousin, Mary L. Kelly of Decatur; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Flower Bearers and Pallbearers will be the Lakeside High School Class of 1968.
