Funeral service for Mr. Billy Wayne Self, Sr., age 74, of Mulberry, TN, will be conducted Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Joey Self officiating. Burial will follow in Morgan Cemetery. Mr. Self passed away Thursday morning at Marshall Medical Center in Boaz, AL.
Mr. Self was a native of Madison County, AL, the son of the late Homer and Vergie Odell Stone Self. He was a former employee of Cumberland in Chattanooga, TN, Sattler Manufacturing in Santa Fe, CA, Cragar Industries in Compton, CA, MCC Flow Seal in Huntington Beach, CA and Sermatech in Houston, TX. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army.
Survivors include daughter Donna (Tim) Choron of Albertville, AL, son Billy Wayne Self, Jr. of Hawthorne, CA, sister Mary Pigg of Park City, 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Along with his parents, Mr. Self was preceded in death by siblings Lonnie Self, Lester Self, Eva Holder, Harvey Self, J.W. Self, Lois Self, Thomas Self and Agnes Dewvoice Powell.
Visitation with the family will be Saturday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.
