Billy Wade Stafford, 84, of Madison, passed away July 16, 2018. Billy retired from the US Army in 1977 as a CW4, and was a veteran of the Korean War. After going to flight school, he served two tours in Vietnam as a Chinook pilot. He was also part of the T-Board crew that mapped Antarctica in 1961-1962. He received numerous honors to include Air Medals and the Bronze Star.
He was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Stafford. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Juanita Stafford; daughter, Sherrie Stafford; grandchildren, Matthew White and Leslie Norris; and his brother, Joe Stafford.
Visitation will be at 4 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home followed by a memorial service at 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2018.
