Billy RichardsonBilly Rex Richardson, 81, of Lexington, passed away August 6, 2024, at his residence. He was retired from Reynolds & Wise, of the Methodist faith, and a United States Army Veteran. Survivors include: Wife: Rosalind Glover Richardson Sons: Sean Richardson(Valeria), Nathaniel Richardson(Rhonda) & Ethan Richardson(Jaime) Daughter: Rexanne Stovall Grandchildren: Benjamin(Jena), Zachary, Dakota(Karlie), Kendall, Hannah, Rylee, Grace, Tobias & Leah Great grandchildren: Elizabeth & Caroline Preceded in death by: Parents: James Leonard Richardson & Rachel Killen Richardson Brother: James Richardson Sisters: Bonnie, Fern, Judy, & Peggy Littrell Visitation will be on Friday, August 9, 2024, from 11:00am – 1;00pm, at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00pm, in the funeral home chapel, with Bro. Mike Butler officiating. Burial will be at Richardson Chapel Cemetery with full military honors at graveside. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Born on the hill above Bluewater creek on Nov. 15, 1942. He became a member of Green’s Chapel church in 1958 and was a teacher and chair of finance for 28 years. He graduated from Rogers High in 1960 and enlisted in the United States Army in September, spending most of his time in Germany. While in Germany, he played piano in one of two USO bands. Married in 1963 at Green’s Chapel Methodist Church and had 4 children. Later he was a member of Green’s Chapel Trio playing rhythm and bass guitar. A few years ago he entertained at Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home and El Reposo. Billy had a God given talent for music. He didn’t know until he was over 50 years old that everybody didn’t hear music like he did. He graduated from Shoals Technical College in radio & TV and almost finished accounting degree. While there he was elected the first president of student council. He raised cattle most of his life, selling 147 cows when he retired.
