Billy Ray Walker, Florence, Alabama, was born March 29, 1937, in Florence, AL, the son of the late John Hamilton and Lou Etta LeMay Walker. Mr. Walker was a crane operator with Roberson Scrape, had worked at the City of Florence water department and was a faithful christian man who loved the Lord. He departed this life on Friday, December 25, 2015, at his home at the age of 78 Years, 8 Months, 26 Days and is survived by his wife, Lois Keel Walker; sons, Marlow Walker (Donna), Billy Walker (Tina); daughters, Gena Abernathy (James), Wanda Harbin (Doug) all of Florence, AL; grandchildren, Colt and Teal Abernathy, Morgan, Blake and Madison Walker, Ryan Harbin and Alicia and Josh Walker; nieces and nephews. Other than his parents, Mr. Walker was preceded in death by a grandchild, Krysta Walker; brother, Pete Walker; half-brother, Hollis Bobo; sisters, Mabel Johnson, Hazel Bates and Alma Hyde and half-sister, Marie Gibson. Services will be Sunday, December 27, 2015, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with David Rushlow officiating. Burial will follow in Lindsey Chapel Cemetery, Highway 157, Florence, Alabama with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Colt and Teal Abernathy, Blake and Josh Walker, Ryan Harbin, Jacky West. Honorary pallbearers will be James Abernathy and Doug Harbin.
