Billy Ray Smith, age 58 of Winchester, passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems. A native of Franklin County, he was born in Winchester on July 8, 1963 to the late Jimmy Wayne Smith and Barbara Ann (Mooney) Pendleton. Billy Ray had been employed as a mechanic at Southern Performance before working and retiring as a carpenter. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, coaching softball, fishing, and hunting deer with his stepdad. But most of all, he cherished the time spent with his beloved family, especially grilling out together. In addition to his parents, Billy Ray was preceded in death by his brother, Danny Smith. He is survived by his significant other of thirty years, Pam Partin; daughter, Tiffany Smith; grandchildren, Taaliyah Ford, Ty Ford, Tristin Hill, and Treasure Dye; siblings, Tina (Richard) Gee and Troy Smith; stepdad, Tommy Pendleton; many nieces and nephews; best friend, Phillip Brown; and four-legged best friend, Sampson. Visitation will be from 1-2pm on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 2:00pm in the Moore-Cortner Chapel.
