Billy Ray Hardin (69) died Monday, February 24, 2025 at his residence in Hamilton, Alabama. He was born on February 11, 1956 in Haleyville, Alabama to Dink Hardin and Edith Justice Hardin. He was a professional painter most of his life and he also did car detailing in the automobile industry. Before moving to Hamilton, he lived in Memphis and then Tupelo for twenty years. He loved all styles of music and was an accomplished guitarist. He especially loved songs by Elvis. He was very independent, open-minded, and never met a stranger. He loved entertaining people and making them laugh.

He is survived by his brother, Roy Hardin of Brewer, one sister-in-law, Lyndia Underwood of Russellville, AL and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dink and Edith Hardin, and eight siblings: Randall, Underwood, Mac Underwood, Tracy Underwood, Carolyn Underwood, Betty Hardin Long, Lynn Hardin Nesbitt, Patsy Hardin Rock, and Sandra Hardin Spurgeon.

A visitation will be held from 12 PM to 1 PM on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Holland Funeral Directors in Tupelo with a prayer service at 1 PM. A private burial will take place at Halltown Cemetery near Red Bay, Alabama. Holland Funeral Directors is honored to serve their friends.
