Billy Ray Emerson, 81, died Saturday, July 18 at Winfield Hospital in Winfield, AL.  He was born in Franklin County, AL to Henderson and Dove Lou Hardin Emerson.  He worked at Sunshine Mills for many years and was a member of the Burleson Masonic Lodge #143.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, July 21, 3:30 p.m. at Ebenezer Cemetery with Bro. Jerry Humphries and Cody Watson officiating.  Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery.  Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife Mary Emerson of Red Bay; four children-Tammy Emerson (Don Humphries), Teresa Watson (Steven), Tony Emerson (Tonya) and Michael Emerson; seven grandchildren-Courtney Watson (Tyler Emerson), Jon Emerson, Jacob Pruitt, Cody Watson (Ashley), Hunter Emerson, Austin Emerson and Dalton  Emerson; one great-grandson-Braxton Emerson; two brothers-Robert Emerson and Mack Emerson (Kathleen); one sister-Mildred Burleson (Ricky) and a sister-in-law-Gidget Emerson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister-Helen Cole; one brother-Steve Emerson and a sister-in-law-Alice Emerson.

Pallbearers will be Cody Watson, Jon Emerson, Hunter Emerson, Tyler Emerson and Steven Watson.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Pruitt, Austin Emerson, Dalton Emerson and Braxton Watson.

A walk-through visitation will be Monday, July 20, 6-9 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.
