Billy Ray Childers, 78, passed away Friday, January 19, 2024 at Grandview Medical Center, Birmingham, AL. He was born in Marion County, AL to Carvie Midas and Dollie Nichols Childers. He worked as a logger for many years.
Funeral services will be Monday, January 22, 1 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Marty Nichols officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife 58 years, Barbara Childers; three children, Rodney Childers (Lynn), Ronaka Cox (Stan) and Billy Heath Childers; grandchildren, Caitlin Beam (Andrew), Hunter Childers, Austin Childers, Michaela Marquis (Logan), Colton Cox and Fallin Cox; great-grandchildren, Hallie and Luke Beam and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Renton Childers, Quenton Childers, David Childers and Jerry Childers.
Pallbearers will be Austin Childers, Hunter Childers, Colton Cox, Andrew Beam, Logan Marquis and Allen Childers.
Visitation will be Monday, January 22, 11-1 at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.
