Billy Ray Boatwright, 82, Tuscumbia, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2024. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 30, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be Wednesday, May 1, in the funeral home chapel beginning at 11:00 a.m., with Troy Tannehill officiating. Interment will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery, Tuscumbia.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Bessie Boatwright; three brothers; five sisters; son-in-law, Rickey Turbyfill; and grandsons, Corey and Chad Turbyfill.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Sue Boatwright; son, Billy Boatwright (Dawn); daughters, Jerita Smith (Kenneth), Pam Boatwright (Stephen), and Amanda Coggins (Dan); ten grandchildren; and twenty-six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Christian Turbyfill, Rusty Boatwright, Chris Boatwright, Justin Boatwright, Wesley Boatwright, Decota Wisdom, and Cobey Coggins. Pedro Monge and Christian Green will serve as honorary pallbearers.
